Meet the designer: ML Tran

“I’ve always had a love of crafting and design. I work as a stationery designer by day where I reside in Houston, Texas with my husband. My late grandmother first taught me how to crochet when I was a kid, so the names of my patterns honor my roots in her memory. It wasn’t until I made a crochet blanket for my newborn niece in 2013 did I get hooked on crochet all over again.

My simple, minimalist style motivates me to inspire others in similar ways, whether it is in your craft or your life. I’ve had complications in my own life with personal struggles and health issues, so I’ve learned there's nothing like keeping it simple and enjoying the little things. To simplify and appreciate. To cultivate gratitude and therapeutic practices. I try to reflect that in my handmade products and crochet patterns by putting thoughtful love, quality care, and thorough attention to simple stitches and designs. MINIMALISM WITH YARN is a means to further recognize and focus on what matters. Even though there are still certain struggles happening in life, I share this with you and hope you'll join me in being a part of this minimalist approach. To create #minimalismwithyarn. To keep things simple. To find value and quality in only what is essential for you. And possibly, you find it with crochet like me!”
